SAD patriarch and former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal passed away at the age of 95

CHANDIGARH, 25 APRIL: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patriarch and five-time former prime minister Parkash Singh Badal, 95, died at Fortis Hospital in Mohali, party spokesperson Jangvir Singh confirmed.

He was admitted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali seven days ago and remained in the intensive care unit (ICU) for the second consecutive day on Saturday.

Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali on April 16 due to exacerbation of bronchial asthma. He was admitted to the medical ICU on April 18 due to a severe respiratory condition,” he said.

“It supported NIV and HFNC and medical management. It was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Digambara Beheri and Pulmonology and Critical Care team supported by Cardiology. Despite proper medical attention, S Parkash Singh Badal fell ill. Fortis Hospital Mohali expressed its condolences the deepest in the death of Parkash Singh Badal.
