CHANDIGARH: Population Research Centre, Panjab University Chandigarh organized a National Webinar on the topic “New Education Policy 2020- A Road Ahead”. Prof. Bharat Desai, School of International Studies, JNU, Delhi was the Key speaker in the webinar.
Prof. Desai in his address highlighted the role of academician in the new education policy. He laid the emphasis on the autonomies given to the teachers while doing research and teaching. The education cannot be a mechanical rather it is an organic thing. He emphasised on being more innovative within the given resources. He also highlighted that role of the subject expert in teaching. In universities/colleges he felt that there was a need for a dynamic leadership who can take some difficult decision for betterment of the society as well as for the students. He gave more stress on culture of excellence.
Earlier,Vice Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar delivered the inaugural address. He welcomed the speaker and the participants and highlighted the main contents of the new education policy,2020.
Prof. Kumool Abbi, Director Population Research Centre moderated the webinar and gave vote of thanks.
