NEW DELHI: The day before the huge IPL 2022 auction was dominated by Indian players. Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan was the most expensive on the first day of the auction and was bought by Mumbai Indians (MI) for 15.25 crores, while Shreyas Iyer was number two, bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for 12.25 crores. Many big names like Suresh Raina, David Miller and Steve Smith did not sell at the auction the first day.
Uncapped players, the money is invested in fast bowler Avesh Khan and bought by the Lucknow Super Giants
(LSG) team for 10 crores. The basic price of Avesh was just Rs 20 lakh. He has also become the most expensive uncapped player in the history of the IPL. Apart from this, the all-round Shahrukh Khan with a basic price of Rs 40 lakh was bought by Punjab for 9 crores. Rahul Tripathi joined Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 8.50 crore. Capped bowler, Shardul Thakur joined Delhi Capitals for 10.75 crores, while the famous Krishna was bought by Rajasthan Royals for 10 crores.
