Important Trader’s Issues concerned with GST, Building Byelaws, Shop Act, Food Act, MC and Police will dominate the meeting
CHANDIGARH, 25 JANUARY: Chandigarh Beopar Mandal an Apex Body of Traders founded in 1992 by Sh. Inder Lal Batra and eleven other prominent traders of city later on being called founder members. It is a non Political Welfare Body of Traders having representation of around 125 Market and Trade Associations of city beautiful to hold its AGM in Community Center, Sector 19 on 28th January, 2023.
Chandigarh Beopar Mandal now has 375 Market/Trade Associations representatives as its members who constitute its General Body. Elections are held every two years for the post of President by democratic election process with secret ballots voting amongst the members. One individual can hold the post of President for two terms of two years totaling to four years continuously.
The Aims and Objectives of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal is welfare of traditional Markets and the traders of the city with a good liaison with Chandigarh Administration, Municipal Corporation and other Department for achieving development of Markets and growth of business.
Chandigarh Beopar Mandal is also associated with many charitable works and has been very significant contributors toward relief during National Calamities. We keep on organizing Blood Donation Camps, Seminars and awareness campaign in Associations with Market Associations and Government Departments. We have also organized Corona Testing and Vaccinations Camps.
The Mandal is affiliated with All India Udyog Beopar Mandal in Delhi through which national issues are taken up with Central Government.
Around fifteen Co-ordination Committee to deal with various departments such as GST/MC/Police/Labour Income Tax/Food Safety have been formed to divide work load amongst us and have co-ordination with different departments and Chairman of Committee are performing their duties well along with a legal Cell to secure judicial reliefs against unjust laws..
Chandigarh Beopar Mandal held’s regular meetings of its members to discuss traders issues and to decide future course of actions for traders welfare. The last meeting under current tenure of Charanjiv Singh who is also a founder member has been fixed for Saturday dated 28/01/2023 at Community Center, Sector 19, Chandigarh in which apart from traders issues, Election for the post of President will be declared and an election schedule and code of conduct will be announced by Sh. Sat Pal Gupta, Chairman, CBM with procedures as per constitution of CBM.
