A delegation of CBM has executive meeting with local MP over issues relates to Building Byelaws governing commercial establishments in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH, 21 SEPTEMBER: A 10 member’s delegation of senior functionaries of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal led by Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM called on Madam Kirron Kher, Member Parliament, Chandigarh, (U.T.) to get resolved pending issues related to Building Byelaws governing commercial buildings.

Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM while appreciating the MP for recommending conversion of Commercial and Industrial property from leasehold to freehold requested the MP to prevail upon MHA to bring the policy at the earliest with reasonable charges. Diwakar Sahoonja, Patron, CBM took up issue of permission of general trade on upper floors of the commercial building as is being allowed without any conversion charges to Coaching Centers, Gyms, Diagnostic Labs and Saloons etc.

Bhupinder Narad, Advisor, CBM said that conversion/extra coverage charges from SCF to SCO on V-4 roads markets of Sector 7 to 30 have been recently increased from Rs.5 Lac to Rs.60 Lac which is unreasonable and needs to be rationalized. MP promised to get it rationalized soon.Vinod Joshi wanted early notification permitting Box type construction in back side on Upper Floors of SCO’s of First Phase Sectors (Sector-7 to 30 Markets) on the pattern of Second Phase Sectors..

Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, Gen. Secy., CBM appealed for permission of Upper Storey of 8 feet for storage purposes to all Single Storey Booths and Bay-Shops in the markets of Chandigarh, Sanjeev Chadha, Gen. Secy., CBM took up most important issue of rationalization of penalty rates for misuse and Building violations. Baljinder Singh Gujral, Gen. Secy., CBM demanded one time settlement for all pending Vat Assessment Cases without C-Forms,

Purshotam Mahajan on behalf of delegation extended thanks to MP for reducing unearned profit, recommending conversion policy from leasehold to freehold for commercial property and also recommending temporary/flexible roof in the backside of  Showrooms of Sector-7 and 26 and requested her to take up other issues of the traders on priority for which MP was sympathetic. CBM delegation consisted of Charanjiv Singh, Diwakar Sahoonja, Parshottam Mahajan, Vinod Joshi, Sanjeev Chadha, Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, Baljinder Singh Gujral, Bhupinder Narad, Prithpal Singh Sodhi
