Chandigarh Beopar Mandal push for early implementation of OTS Scheme on Punjab pattern for all pending VAT Assessment Cases of UT

CBM delegation demands that few numbers of GST scrutiny cases notices to be sent only after due verifications for 2018-2019 and further years.  

CHANDIGARH, 5 JANUARY: A meeting was held with Jagdeep Saigal AETC, UT Chandigarh by members of GST Co-ordination Committee of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal comprising Charanjiv Singh, President, Ram Karan Gupta, Advisor cum Chairman GST Committee, Diwakar Sahoonja, Patron cum Spokes Person, Sanjeev Chadha General Secretary, Harjit Singh, Vice President and Kamal Suri, Joint Secretary to discuss some of pending trader issues regarding Vat and GST related Assessment cases

While complimenting 29% increase in GST collection this month The AETC Sh. Jagdeep Saigal assured CBM delegation about public friendly approach by department towards any pending assessment cases and other proceedings. He told delegation that OTS Scheme to be notified in city is under study and a final call shall be taken up soon after its approval by higher authorities. 

Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM said that department has sent notices of Lac and Crore of Rupees for the year 2017-18 GST cases and requested the officer that few numbers of GST scrutiny notices should be sent only after due verification for 2018-2019 and further years.  

Ram Karan Gupta, Chairman GST Committee, CBM reminded the officer that they had already  had   forwarded a memorandum  on behalf of traders of city few months back in which it was   demanded  that  one time amnesty scheme on pattern of Punjab to  be made applicable to all pending cases till date of GST was implemented in  Chandigarh

Diwakar Sahoonja, Patron, CBM said that notifying such scheme is necessary to achieve target of 5 Trillion economies as set by Prime Minister Narender Modi Ji for India 

Sanjeev Chadha, General Secretary, CBM requested  the department to provide Ward wise list of all officials for convenient redressal of problems being faced by traders day to day  on various issues related to GST 

Kamal Suri and Harjit Singh requested that department must be lenient towards assessment of early years when GST was just implemented 

Jagdeep Saigal AETC assured the delegation that OTS Scheme is under study and will be implemented soon after taking approval from higher authorities. He also assured to send further GST scrutiny notices after due verification by the ETO’s and instead of 300 notices sent per ward for 2017-18, only 50 such notices will be sent for further years.
