Demanded softer Laws regarding Commercial space in Markets and Appeals for support rather than punishment to trading community of City
CHANDIGARH, 20 APRIL: The delegation of Sub-Committee Building Bylaws of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) consisting of Charanjiv Singh, Vinod Joshi, Diwakar Sahoonja and Subhash Narang today participated in a meeting convened by Chandigarh Administration chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh and also attended by Sh. Sanjay Tandon, Senior BJP Leader where in representatives of many Industry, Business Community as well as residents of city participated.
Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM demanded setting aside of exorbitant proposed penalty charges and notification allowing need based changes regarding usage of commercial building and internal changes etc as per new business trends cum needs of today to reduce incidents of Violation and misuse.
Diwakar Sahoonja, Patron cum Official Spokes Person, CBM said traders and shop establishments must be treated as preferred class since generated high employment and has generation to generation goodwill hence cannot afford to shift premises hence all need based changes must be notified before the implementation of new Laws Governing penalties on misusage and Building Violation.
Vinod Joshi, Chairman Building Bylaws Sub-Committee, CBM said that section 15 which gives power to the Estate Office for initiating proceeding in contravention of any of the rules in the Estate Office like non-payment, non construction, non-execution of conveyance deed. The penalty should be lump sum and reasonable instead of multiplying on daily basis.
Subhash Narang, Senior Vice President, CBM said the commercial space in the state being limited and well specified hence there are many livelihoods dependent upon such business establishments hence all sanction able changes must be regularized. Commerce of City needed Support and not Punishment hence all need based changes must be regularized.
