CBM DEMANDS ON PUNJAB PATTERN ONE TIME SETTLEMENT SCHEME FOR DISPOSAL OF ALL OLD VAT ASSESSMENT CASES FOR PRE GST PERIOD.
CHANDIGARH: On the invitation of Sh. Randhir Singh, newly appointed AETC the Office Bearers of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal and President of Market Associations attended the meeting in the Conference Hall of Excise and Taxation Department. Officials present were Sh. Randhir Singh AETC, Heena Talwar ETO, Shikha Kochhar ETO, Partap Singh ETO, Ravi Kumar ETO and few others. Prominent amongst the traders present were namely Charanjiv Singh, Ram Karan Gupta, Anil Vohra, Sanjeev Chadha, Baljinder Gujral, Radhey Lal, Ram Lal, Tajinder Singh to name the few Sh. Randhir Singh appealed to CBM to bring awareness amongst Shopkeepers of Chandigarh to issue bills for every sale so that revenue of Department could increase further.
Sh. Ram Karan Gupta, Chairman GST Co-ordination Committee and Sh. Baljinder Gujral, Gen. Secy., CBM presented a memorandum to be forwarded to Finance Minister of India to reconsider the proposed increase in GST from 5% to 12% on Fabrics and Readymade Garments/Foot wears up to value of Rs.1000/- as it will adversely affect business of these items and also result in increase of said products especially effecting the budget of middle class citizens who are already suffering from inflation.
Sh. Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM requested the Officer to take up the matter to implement a scheme on the
pattern of Punjab One Time Settlement Scheme of outstanding dues 2021 for disposal off VAT Assessment cases
pre GST period. This issue is already under consideration of Chandigarh Administration.
Sh. Sanjeev Chadha, Gen. Secy., CBM said traders in the main Markets of City especially Sector 17 are doing sale
of proper Bills only as most of payment is being received on digital basis.
Sh. Anil Vohra, Patron and Sh. Radhey Lal, Finance Secy., CBM said that Department should convene such meeting in co-ordination with Chandigarh Beopar Mandal only as almost all Market Associations are associated with Chandigarh Beopar Mandal.
