Demands Income Tax Advisory Committee, Quarterly Interactive Meetings and Social Security Schemes for Traders and Tax Payers
Chandigarh Traders CHANDIGARH, 6 SEPTEMBER: Chandigarh Beopar Mandal today participated in most imported meeting held in Income Tax Department of Chandigarh with a visiting team from newly formed Capacity Building Commission of India under Prime Minister Office on the subject of ease in compliance and more citizen friendly interaction by staff of Income Tax Department. The meeting was chaired and conducted by Sh. P.S. Punia, Retd. Chief Commissioner Income Tax Chandigarh and now National Advisor to Capacity Building Commission of India under P.M.O. and co-chaired by Sh. Manu Malik, Chief Commissioner Income Tax, Chandigarh as well as by Ms. Tarundeep Kaur, IRS, Additional Commissioner Income Tax Range-I.
Newly constituted All India Commission has been assigned to bring procedural as well as behavior changes in staff in important sub sections U.T. Police, Direct Taxes and Railway to make these services more citizens friendly. While Charanjiv Singh President, CBM took up issue of unnecessary instructions from Income Tax Department in Clause 44 of Tax Audit Report of providing break up of purchases and expenses from registered, non-registered and composite suppliers as per GST. He demanded roll back of this provision as it is very difficult for us especially small businesses to compile the details of break up as there are numerous entries on daily basis and it will also not effect the tax liabilities of assesses whether purchase is from registered or unregistered dealer.
Darpan Kapoor, Chairman, Income Tax Coordination Committee, CBM cum Vice President, CBM took up issue of disallowance of expenses in case of small delay in ESI and EPF payments. It should be permissible after depositing the same as was the practice earlier. Diwakar Sahoonja, Patron, CBM suggested constituting of Advisory Committee and quarterly interaction meeting of senior functionaries of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal with that of Income Tax Department.
Mohit Sood, Secretary, CBM appealed for some incentives to honest tax payers in shape of old age pension, medical insurance and other social security schemes. The prominent, Chartered Accountant Bodies and Income Tax Bar functionaries also participated in this important meeting attended by all the ITO’s of Range-I of Income Tax Department. In the end R.S. Punia who once served as Commissioner Income Tax, U.T. and now is Principal Advisor in this newly formed Commission by Prime Minister Sh. Narender Modi thanked the delegation of Income Tax Coordination Committee of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal for sharing feedback of traders of the city.
