Tent Dealers Association demanded Warehousing Space in the city itself as per proposal in Master Plan as storage of Tent and Catering Goods is not currently permitted in the Commercial Buildings of City which is so essential for the trade as well as citizens of Chandigarh
CHANDIGARH, 5 AUGUST: A joint delegation of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) and Tent Dealers Society today called on Sh. Dharam Pal, IAS, Adviser to Administrator with a Memorandum regarding urgent need of early availability of Warehouse Units for city entrepreneurs and Tent Dealers who cannot afford expensive Commercial Units for Warehousing of their Tents and Catering Goods in the city.
The Joint Deputation consisting of Sh. Charanjiv Singh, President, Sh. Anil Vohra, Patron cum Advisor Tent Dealers Society, Sh. Diwakar Sahoonja, Patron cum Official Spokesperson and Sh. Jasbir Singh Bunty, Sr. Councilor cum President, Tent Dealers Society.
Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM told the Advisor that since the provisions for Warehousing Complex is now part of Master Plan, 2031 and Property now being Freehold hence the area be now developed at the earliest for availability to city Businessmen. Jasbir Singh Bunty said since no Commercial Building in City allows storage of Tenting and Catering Goods hence many Tent Dealers have shifted to nearby tricity areas and their Businesses have suffered a lot.
Diwakar Sahoonja, Patron cum Official Spokesperson, CBM who is recently nominated as Chairman, Legal Cell, CBM appealed to the Advisor to withdraw all pending penalty cases and also notify all pending need based changes in Building Byelaws before finalizing rationalized penalty rates for misuse and Building violations in the city. Anil Vohra took up the issue of allowing most genuine demand of permitting Sale and Display on Upper Floors especially when high intensity Businesses like Coaching, Gym, Boutique etc. are already allowed free on the Upper Floors all the commercial establishments
The Advisor after the discussions with the Deputation of CBM promised to take up the issue on priority and gave relevant directions to Finance Secretary, U.T. to initiate Warehousing Complex on priority, review pending Penalty cases. Advisor also assured the delegation to take up the trader issues with the Home Ministry.
