CHANDIGARH: Varun Benniwal, Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) invited Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) to discuss improvement in the regulating compliance process in the Labour Department.
A delegation of Labour Cell Committee of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) consisting of Sh. Charanjiv Singh, Sh. Anil Vohra, Sh. Ravinder Singh Billa, Sh. Pritpal Singh Sodhi, Sh. Sanjiv Grover called on him regarding suggestions on behalf of Traders of City:-
- Instead of renewal of License every year under Shop establishment Act, it should be issued for one time as per Punjab Act without any need for renewal. If any dealer closes his business, he should inform the Labour Department in writing and surrender his License.
- An Amnesty scheme should be launched and one more chance of minimum Six months time should be given to those who have not registered or renewed their commercial establishment under Shop Act for any reason without any Penalty or Challan.
- There is a need to make available all the services by Labour Department online. There should be a provision for amendments like change of employees or address in the website. In case any dealers forget his Login ID or Password, OTP should come for change and update the new password which is not coming presently.
- The Technical Staff should be increased so that Shopkeepers gets early response of their renewal application or any other query.
- The Labour Welfare Fund should be displayed online.
