Chandigarh Beopar Mandal takes up law & order related issues with the new SSP Chandigarh 

CHANDIGARH, 12 MAY: Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP, Chandigarh participated in largely attended executive body meeting Chandigarh Beopar Mandal as the Chief Guest along with. Dr. Mridul Kumar, SP city, Charanjit Singh Virk, DSP and Jaspal Bhullar, Area SHO. Officers listened to the grievances of trading community over law and order situation in the City. Mr. Charanjiv Singh the 6th time President of CBM welcomed the police officials on behalf of new executive body who gave brief introduction of CBM followed by Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, Gen. Secy. cum Chairman Police Co-ordination Committee who read out memorandum of trader issues to the SSP. Memorandum includes the following issues:-

Strengthening of Beat System.

Night Patrolling in the Markets

Shifting of Unauthorized Vendors to Vendor Zones

Control Beggar Menace at Light Points and in the Markets 

Regular Traders-Police Co-ordination Meetings

Resolving of theft cases in the Markets 

Neutral Role of Police in Landlord Tenant disputes.

Reward to Honest and Genuine Police and Public Person

Later some of President’s of various markets also shared their views and specific law and order issues related to their specific market  namely Diwakar Sahoonja, Patron cum President, Sector 11, Market, Sanjeev Chadha, Gen. Secy., CBM cum President, Sector 17, Anuj Sehgal,. Sector 36, Mohit Sood, Gen. Secy., Grain Market, Arun Aggarwal, Sector 47, Manoj Bajaj, Sector 23, Pritpal Sodhi, Sector 40, Kamal Suri, Sector 48 to mention the few. 

Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, SSP, UT while highlighting role of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal Co-ordination with UT Police in maintaining law and order in markets of City suggested registration in the Police Station of private security guards/chowkidars deployed in the market and a follow-up meeting next month since she had noted all the issues raised in memorandum and that of specific markets. She also thanked CBM for organizing this interaction meeting and giving opportunity to address trading community of City via this largely attended Executive Body Meeting of almost 100 member strong body of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal.
