CHANDIGARH, 15 NOVEMBER: Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, the Apex Trader Body of city held its AGM in Hotel Park View with more than 200 prominent Trader members representing various Market Associations and Trade Associations of Chandigarh participating in huge strength.
Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM in his presidential address shared activities and achievements achieved by Chandigarh Beopar Mandal and demanded early announcement of conversion policy for commercial leasehold property to freehold, New warehousing complex in sector 38-west and Industrial Ph-3 as per master plan, Early announcement of policy for shifting of vegetable/Grain Market Arti-Auction License Holder to New Grain Market Sector 39 and allotment of shops to them.
Ram Karan Gupta Chairman GST Coordination Committee apprised the house that Chandigarh Administration has already decided to implement the OTS scheme for assessment of old Vat cases subject to the final approval by the MHA. Ravinder Singh Billa, Chairman Labour Cell that we have submitted a Memorandum to Assistant Labour Commissioner and demanded lifetime registration certificate under shop registration act and organization of camps in the markets for registration and renewal under the shop act. Sanjeev Chadha Chairman MC Coordination Committee inform the house that we have helped the traders especially of Sector 22 C-D and Sector 17 Bridge Market for allotment of Diwali stalls. He also informed that door to door collection charges have been reduced from Rs.500/- to Rs.150/- per shop and it will collected by MC in the property tax bills.
Diwakar Sahoonja Patron CBM said that we have opposed the project of proposed Underpass cum Parking in Sector 11 Market which by registering objections by CBM to Kirron Kher, Local M.P., Anandita Mitra, Commissioner, M.C. and with CGM Smart City Projects it. However CBM deplored in one voice the non inclusion in the M.C. Nominations of CBM representative this time unlike in past thus ignoring Apex Body of Traders by Administration and Ruling Party. Charanjiv Singh welcome 5 new members especially Anup Gupta, Deputy Mayor and applauded appointment of two new Advisors Darpan Kapoor of Kapson fame and Sharanjit Singh of Gopal Sweets fame. Others who spoke to the Gathering were Anil Vohra Patron who appealed for more discipline to be adopted by members in the meetings and day to day working of CBM, whereas Sh. Khandelwal appealed to further strengthen the working so that Ruling Party comes to our terms, same sentiments were expressed by Purshotam Mahajan Founder Member cum Patron who mooted idea of constituting Ward Wise Committees to strengthen the political power of CBM. Diwakar Sahoonja former President and now Patron cum Official Spokesperson suggested sessions by Business Experts for educating traders to achieve more growth in business and the need of an online portal of CBM for benefit of traders of the City.
