CHANDIGARH: On the Eve of 161st Income Tax Day, Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) planted a tree in the Aaykar Bhawan,sector 17, Chandigarh on behalf of the traders of the city to commemorate AZADI KA MAHA AMRIT MAHA UTSAV by the IncomeTax Department, Chandigarh.
Traders demanded ease in doing business and Sale promotion freedom in all the high street markets of the city for boosting revenues.
A delegation of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) led by Diwakar Sahoonja,Patron CBM, along with senior functionaries namely She Bhupender Narad, Sh Darpan Kapoor, Sh Radhe Lall Bajaj and Sh Sushil Bansal participated in the gala function of Tree Plantation Drive to comemorate eve of 161st Income Tax Day as part of celebrations of AZADI KA AMRIT MAHA UTSAV organised at Aykar Bhawan with Principal Chief Commissioner of. Income Tax North-West Region, SH. SHRI KRISHNA IRS as the Chief Guest.
On the occasion not only a tree was planted by CBM on behalf of traders of the city but the delegation of CBM also participated in a high-level meeting with all the income tax officials ,Chairmen of Income Tax Bar Association and that of Chartererd Accountants.
Diwakar Sahoonja, Patron cum Official Spokes Person, CBM addressed the gathering highlighting profile of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal and it’s activities and requested the chief guest and department to persuade administration to support retail Activities in the city by providing simpler building bylaws and upgrading upkeep of parking areas and other facilities in and around the markets of the city so that there is more revenue generation.
Darpan Kapoor asked permission to trade associations to hold SHOPPING FESTIVALS to attract tourists by utilising the open spaces in the markets for special displays on the lines of Dubai Shopping Festivals. The meeting culminated with High tea and address of thanks by the Chief Commissioner Income Tax.
